10 Most Memorable WWE Funeral Parlor Segments
7. "Macho Man" Randy Savage (11 November 1991)
"Reinstatement! That's the plan! Reinstate the Macho Man!"
For months following his emotional reunion with Miss Elizabeth at WrestleMania VII, this would be the mantra of Randy Savage and his legion of fans who wished to see him return to the ring despite the retirement stipulation that had been put in place. The calls would only get louder by mid-October.
One imagines that WWF President Jack Tunney's phone lines were flooded with calls of reinstatement following Jake 'The Snake' Roberts' heinous assault on Randy with an ACTUAL cobra (a scene still burned into the memories of kids who witnessed it at the time). Three weeks later, the Macho Man had had enough and took to the Funeral Parlor to issue one final plea for reinstatement to Tunney. Macho swallowed his pride and even offered to beg for his job back in order to get his hands on Roberts. His prayers would be answered shortly thereafter, as Tunney obliged and permitted the "Savage"ry to continue with blow-off matches at Survivor Series and Saturday Night's Main Event XXX.
