Daniel Bryan's career is comparable to no other WWE superstars'. Unfortunately, the majority of his career was spent in the independent circuit, not being able to showcase his talents on a true national stage until he arrived to the WWE's main roster in 2010.

In June 2010, shortly after his arrival as part of the villainous Nexus group, Bryan was terminated for being a too aggressive in his choking of ringside announcer Justin Roberts (he used Justin's own necktie against him), despite issuing a public apology. As absurd of a punishment as it was, Bryan was released for mimicking violence on a television show with the fundamental premise to mimic violence, but I digress...

His return came at SummerSlam 2010 when Bryan was announced as the mystery partner of Team WWE by captain John Cena.

In kayfabe, Bryan was kicked out of the Nexus group for showing remorse for his actions with his apology and that paved the way for his babyface run beginning at SummerSlam 2010.

Prior to the reveal, fans speculated that Daniel Bryan would ultimately be hired back to WWE due to the factors surrounding his termination, but not everyone was sure it would happen as soon as SummerSlam.
