10 Most Memorable WWE Raw Moments From 1996

8. Sycho Sid Returns

http://youtu.be/n3OtveUYFVQ?t=47m1s Date: July 8th It really does seem like Sid has returned to the company 30 times through the years, doesn't it? After a return to the company in 1995, Sid would suffer a neck injury and be sidelined for several months, finally returning on July 8th, 1996. He left as a heel, but returned as a face, coming in as the mystery partner for Shawn Michaels and Ahmed Johnson in their match against Vader, Owen Hart and The British Bulldog in the main event of In Your House 9: International Incident. It was almost jarring to see him teaming up with Michaels, who he had been feuding with for much of 1995, but there he was, getting face pops at a time when he was actually supposed to. Continuing the weird trend of fans not caring about face/heel divides when it comes to Sid, he would go on to have a match with Michaels at the 1996 Survivor Series for the WWF Title, and the crowd would cheer his heel tactics. He took a camera from a ringside cameraman and smashed Jose Lothario (Michaels' trainer) with it to a loud pop, and Michaels was booed for responding with Sweet Chin Music. Instead of going for the win, Shawn would check on Lothario, allowing Sid enough time to get back up and hit him with a Powerbomb for the win, giving him his first WWF Title, as the crowd went crazy. When "The Man, The Master, and The Ruler Of The World" shows up, you know something serious is about to go down, whether he's aligning himself with faces or heels.
