Date: February 13th Before he found religion, Shawn Michaels was pretty notorious for being a bit of a difficult person to get along with. He was only looking out for himself, and would lie and cheat just to get his way. Even his best friends didn't always like the person he was at the time, and they all freely admit it these days. Heading into WrestleMania 13, word is that Michaels was set to drop his WWF Title to Bret Hart, in a rematch of their Mania match the year before. Michaels wasn't feeling the idea, and that's when he (supposedly) came up with a plan to play up a knee injury as a reason to be stripped of the title. He came to the ring, looking very serious, and made it seem like his career was possibly in jeopardy. He relinquished the title, leaving many in the crowd feeling emotional. At the time, it was a very memorable moment, based solely on the reigning WWF Champion willingly giving the title up and walking away from the sport for a while. As the years have gone by, the moment became even more memorable, as the reports of Michaels overstating his injury to avoid losing to Hart began to roll in. It was a shady thing to do, especially in Bret's eyes, as he went from probably winning the WWF Title to not even being in the show's main event, all because of a single decision that someone else made.
