9. Eric Bischoff Threw A Cup Of Hot Coffee At Eddie In WCW

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgWYWpQnyrs The Legend: That Eric Bischoff became so enraged during an argument with Eddie that he threw a hot cup of coffee at/on him. Why People Believe It: Because it makes for a great story and people generally disliked Bischoff for a long period of time (he's since rebuilt his reputation considerably). As previously mentioned, Eddie and the other WCW midcarders were unhappy with their status in the company and Eddie went directly to Bischoff and asked for his release. This didn't sit well with the Bisch, who felt that Eddie was being ungrateful. Bischoff was so angry that, in the midst of his gesticulating, he accidentally hit a cup of coffee that was sitting on his desk. Some of that coffee ended up on Eddie. As Eddie explained in a 2001 interview with Mike Mooneyham:
He didn€™t throw the coffee at me. He kind of threw it at the ground, but it still got on me. I think he was a little upset. But it€™s been blown out of proportion
Eddie also talked about the incident in Cheating Death Stealing Life, saying that he felt it was just an unfortunate accident. Eddie was unharmed and the two used the incident during an angle on Nitro not long after: Eddie came to the ring talking about how he unhappy he was and then told Bischoff that he'll pour coffee on himself this time (which he did). Is It True: No, not really. There was a scene between Eddie and Bischoff and it did involve coffee, but this was one has (like Eddie said) been blown way out of proportion. Had Bischoff actually thrown the coffee at Eddie, Latino Heat would have been well within his rights to demand a release, which he would have received.
