The Story: That Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle's then-wife Karen began an affair while all three were working in TNA, leading to Karen leaving Kurt and marrying Jeff. The Evidence: Well, Karen and Jeff are now married (happily, by all accounts) for a kickoff. It's an interesting tale and caused a bit of a scandal back in 2009. An annonymous caller, claiming to be a former TNA employee, called into the Bubba The Love Sponge radio show in July of that year and broke news of the affair. Kurt wasn't happy about it and neither was TNA President Dixie Carter, who placed Jarrett on a leave of absence. She felt that she had to side with top star Kurt and not original co-founder Jarrett. Jeff disappeared for a few months while the heat died down and came back to work a programme with Kurt, based on the real-life situation that had developed. It must be mentioned that Jaff and Karen did not begin a romantic relationship while she and Kurt were married: they were separated in September 2008 after Karen had filed for divorce. The Jarrett/Karen Angle relationship began a couple of months later, by all accounts. Is It True: Kind of, but not really. They were seperated, and Kurt did say in a Howard Stern interview in March 2009 (before the news broke) that he had 'cheated on Karen' while they were separated and that Karen was with another wrestler as a means of getting back at him. Like all things in wrestling it was turned into an angle (no pun intended). Jeff, Karen and Kurt were all able to work with each other in a professional manner and all three have moved on. Kurt is now married to actress Giovanna Yannotti with whom he has two daughters.
