10 Most Notorious Scott Steiner Urban Legends

5. He's A Physical Wreck

The Legend: That Scott Steiner is completely broken down and lives with several debilitating injuries.

Why People Believe It: Well, besides the aforementioned Puerto Rico incident, Steiner has certainly been through the wars. Scott made his professional debut in 1996, making him a thirty year veteran. That's a lot of time taking bumps (for anyone) but when you consider the full-on style that Steiner wrestled for the first decade of his career, you have to believe that there's some serious wear and tear there. Scott, along with his brother Rick, were two of the hardest-hitting wrestlers in the business and had some big-bumping blinders in WCW, the WWF, and Japan. The upshot of that was that their bodies started to break down by the mid-to-late-90s. Scott had to take time off in 1999 with a bad back injury and couldn't sign for WWE until November 2002 because he had drop foot syndrome (his foot was totally paralysed). Steiner clearly struggled during his WWE run and got major surgery on the injured foot after leaving the company. Steiner couldn't sign for the WWE without passing a host of physical examinations. He has continued wrestling since, and must be in worse shape now.

Is It True: Most likely, yeah. Steiner still wrestles sporadically (including an appearance at TNA's Slammiversary), but it's clearly a struggle for him. The one-time super worker is a shadow of his former self but it's worth bearing in mind that he is 55 years old. Injuries may play a part but so to does age and Steiner is no spring chicken any more.
