1. He Avoided WWE Because He Didn't Trust How He'd Be Used
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwF9lZEdq6c Story: The biggest question about Sting's career is why it took him over 13 years after WCW folded in 2001 to finally go to WWE in late 2014. Apparently the main issue was trust. In the video he talked about how he watched when Booker T first showed up in WWE and he was quickly disrespected by The Rock, who treated him as if he was a nobody. That made Sting wonder what would happen if he showed up. Keep in mind that the video above was from a TNA DVD about Sting from 2006, so this is one of those things where people have to form their own opinions and wonder if that's what he really thought or if he was encouraged to think that way. Why People Believe It: Look at a guy like Goldberg. WWE did a bad job with him. He wasn't the legend that Sting was, but he was a top guy in WCW and a huge draw. Sting's concerns were reasonable. Should We Believe It: Yes because the reason makes a lot of sense from his perspective. WWE did a poor job with a lot of WCW guys and didn't treat them like big stars, so it's understandable. There were also stories that Sting didn't like how raunchy WWE was during their non-PG years, but once they turned PG friendly in 2008 those fears would be out the window. It seems as though the trust issue is the big reason why he stayed away so long. He worked so hard to build a legacy in WCW and if he thought WWE wasn't going to use him right then he's smart to have kept his distance for as long as he did.
