8. WWE Mistakenly Put Picture Of Fake Sting On Back Of DVD
Story: WWE released a "Best of Sting" DVD last fall. It was a collection of great matches and moments from his career that a lot of wrestling fans wanted to see. The problem was that on the back of the DVD, one of the photos was actually a picture of "NWO Sting" Jeff Farmer. Just to give a little bit of background, the NWO brought in a fake Sting as part of an angle and the guy wrestled as "NWO Sting" for years both in the US and in Japan. He actually wrestled as NWO Sting from 1996 all the way to 2005 although not exclusively as that character. It's amazing that he was able to do it for about ten years. Why People Believe It: It became a big news story last year because people were dumbfounded that WWE would allow that to happen. Proof is in the pictures. Should We Believe It: Yes it happened. WWE's DVD distributor commented on Facebook about it: "The first batch of The Best of Sting DVDs and Blu-Rays will have a picture of 'Fake Sting' on it. This mistake will become a collectors dream. Out October 1. Pre-Order now." It's really not a big deal all things considered, but they really should have been more careful about what pictures they chose for the DVD.
