4. Ultimate Warrior vs. Honky Tonk Man - SummerSlam 1988
Another entry for Warrior, this time during his first run with the company at the inaugural SummerSlam pay-per-view. Less than a year after his debut, the relative rookie defeated the Honky Tonk Man in 31 seconds to claim his first piece of WWE gold. Most significantly though, Honky Tonk Man was the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in history at the time. In fact, that record of 454 days still stands todayand truth be told it may never be broken. To add yet further drama to the situation, Warrior had been revealed as the last-minute, surprise replacement for an injured Brutus The Barber Beefcake, much to the astonishment and ultimate disappointment of an embarrassed Honky Tonk Man. It all made for a scenario that nobody could have seen coming ahead of the PPV, ensuring this squash match wasnt going to be forgotten in a hurry.
