10 Most Over Wrestlers In WWE Today
9. Bray Wyatt
There must be something to the Bray Wyatt character.
This is a man who has been the recipient of more shoddy booking in four years than Kane was in twenty. He apparently has the use of supernatural powers, but is unable to transpose them to the wrestling ring, which should undermine his aura entirely. He can summon fire and lightning and project gory imagery onto the ring canvas, but this doesn't stop him from walking into an RKO after ten minutes. He can make Randy Orton's eyes light up, but he can't beat him in a wrestling match without the dual help of a fridge freezer and Jinder Mahal.
And yet, even in this post-House of Horrors age, Wyatt - or more accurately, the promise his character holds - resonates with the eternal optimists within the WWE Universe, who greet his entrances with thousands of "fireflies" held aloft. Before it went to (Wrestle)cr*p, his feud with Orton drew praise for being something different. Fans consistently react to Wyatt, but his booking has become laughably inconsistent.
Is Wyatt a supernatural being, or a conman? WWE hasn't settled on what Wyatt is, how good of a wrestler his character is supposed to be, how he is meant to exist within the fictitious universe. The reactions he somehow still generates should convince WWE to work all that out.
