10 Most Over Wrestlers In WWE Today

8. Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss isn't the best in-ring worker. She is, however, a bonafide star.

She's also breaking rules and conventions. The Women's Revolution proved that females could match the efforts of their male counterparts. At the first NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, Sasha Banks and Bayley bettered the work of Kevin Owens and Finn Bálor. Bliss has never performed to that level, and yet, her act resonates far more. She can elicit a response with one derisory facial expression. That is the mark of a true psychologist.

We've always been told that the best wrestlers are exaggerated extensions of themselves, and that hasn't suddenly become untrue - but Bliss plays a fabulously condescending pr*ck on WWE television despite being a total sweetheart in real life. The My Daughter Is A WWE Superstar special should have turned her face. She was self-effacing, self-deprecating. Even more so than that, she was inspiring. She went over in her real-life battle with anorexia. How could you boo her for that?

Bliss erases any memories of it, instantly, whenever she appears on WWE TV. She is a marvellous performer, one who can actually shut down the dreaded "What?" chants with ease. That reception is very quickly giving way to something far less detached. Bliss is a star. That fact is becoming impossible to ignore.
