10 Most Over Wrestlers In WWE Today
6. Braun Strowman
Braun Strowman's surging popularity is audible. It is also tenuous and conditional.
Fans love it when he destroys apparent top babyface Roman Reigns. Reigns even received the "You deserve it!" treatment when Strowman attempted to murder him. Strowman's two most heated matches saw him face Reigns, at Fastlane and Payback. Both were excellent - proper, bruising big man matches performed at a blistering pace, close to the Batista Vs. Undertaker matches from 2007 in how unexpectedly great and dynamic they were.
This poses a question and a challenge: Is Strowman only really, all the way over when in opposition to him? If WWE does relent, and turns him face, can he sustain his popularity when he will undoubtedly need to revise his match layouts?
Those are questions for then; for now, Strowman is such a hit that RAW has suffered terribly in his absence. Fans are on board with him because he wrestles well beyond what is expected of a man his size - truly, it's surprising WWE allows him to slam the pedal as hard as he does - and has been protected as well as anybody in WWE.
Freedom of expression and consistent characterisation. The formula isn't exactly complex.
