10 Most Over Wrestlers In WWE Today

7. The Miz

The Miz is a phenomenal heel, especially when one considers that the art form he has perfected is more or less dead.

He is one of few WWE acts who flourishes within the scripted environment because you can believe that, as an aspirational Hollywood hanger-on, he genuinely speaks in the curiously rehearsed manner in which all WWE performers operate. It's almost ironic. He is perceived as the typical WWE product, for better or worse, and he is believable because he has perfected the role of a TV character so well.

The addition of Maryse to his act, in 2016, reheated him to a degree few could have predicted in an era defined by workrate. Where Miz was once pure chickensh*t, using Maryse as both shield and distraction has seen him become more calculated, more cunning - and more over. The double act became so effective that even Dolph Ziggler, who has struggled for years, came across as a bonafide star in opposition to him. Neither has since received booking anywhere near as generous and focused as they did in autumn 2016. The Miz is still relevant; Ziggler, far less so.

One is awesome as an inherently punchable wind-up merchant; the other, less so.
