5. Baron Corbin

Fans are latching on to the current Baron Corbin story, even if WWE are categorically not the company to tell it.

There's been more bad than good to the tale of the former King's financial hardship in the last few months, with the genuinely earnest moment Kevin Owens gave him $20 only for karma (and a fixed tank) to shoot him in the balls to take it away from him mired slightly by babyface from as far apart on the spectrum as Rick Boogz and John Cena to mock him for his life on the breadline.

The latter of the two interactions has at least dovetailed into his newest feud, but a series opposite Finn Bálor will presumably force the former NXT Champion into some poor-shaming of his own, and stop the very gradual attempts to try and source some sympathy for the least sympathetic WWE character in the last decade.

This organisation cannot and will not figure out the difference between laughing at heels getting comeuppance and guffawing at somebody's misery and plight, but at long last Corbin seems to have found a gimmick people are really investing in. His character could do with some of that.
