10 Most Overrated Wrestlers Of The '90s
4. Lex Luger
As with another 'iconic' superstar on this list, Lex Luger's greatest accomplishment was shocking the world by suddenly jumping ship from WWE to WCW. Seriously, without looking him up, name one memorable moment of his that didn't involve him showing up on Monday Nitro or the controversy of his 'co-win' at the 1994 Royal Rumble.
Can you? Can anyone?
Luger may have called himself 'The Total Package', but the guy had less inside his box of goodies than most of the mid-carders during the talent-deprived New Generation Era.
His matches were lackluster and tedious at best, his energy level while performing was "check his pulse" levels of low, and he never showed any real excitement for his work. Lex Luger was just a warm (ripped) body that looked the part, which is sadly all anybody needed to become a star during that time.
As for his numerous gimmick changes, you can dress up a head of cabbage any way you want, but that won't make it a marketable wrestler. And that's pretty much what Luger was in the wrestling business: a head of cabbage wearing arm bands.
