6. Warrior Slams Bobby Heenan - WrestleMania V

The Ultimate Warrior rarely lost during his first WWF run.

That he did so on the grandest stage, albeit with the chicanery of Rick Rude's manager Bobby Heenan, was momentous enough in itself. But, to understandably spike audience enthusiasm at a time in which heels were rarely more than fodder for the action figure-selling babyface heroes, Warrior was booked to gain a measure of vengeance over Heenan.

Warrior chased Heenan around the ring after his feet had been pinned to the mat, which allowed Rude to capture Warrior's Intercontinental Title. He then picked him up and dropped him awkwardly to the mat below with his Gorilla press drop signature. The landing was ugly. The move was never the safest. It offered little scope for protection; Warrior sort of carelessly hit and hoped with it. On this occasion, Heenan glanced off Warrior's shoulder and crumpled sideways into a heap on the floor.

Ever the pro, Heenan sold his back, when in reality the move triggered an injury to his already bum neck and hastened his transition to the commentary booth. It was a moment which provided catharsis to Warrior's young fans - and indirectly provided fans with some of wrestling's funniest ever soundbites - but cost Heenan as much quality of life as it did money.

His lucrative managerial gig once netted him a six figure payday at 1988's The Main Event, but he was cut by McMahon in 1993 because his latter role did not justify his mammoth salary.
