7. The Dead Man Cometh Again - WrestleMania XX

After spending nearly four years as Eric Bischoff's ideal of what a professional wrestler should look like, Undertaker parked the motorcycle and rose from the grave to revert to his original persona at WrestleMania XX.

As Kane paced around the ring, a familiar wail rang out around the arena. It was Paul Bearer, screeching out his famous "Oh, yes!" catchphrase. Undertaker's druid-flanked entrance was similarly spine-tingling - but his new gear was barely updated. The baggy black leather pants were fit more for a Harley than the funeral home. It didn't, despite Jim Ross' best efforts on commentary, feel like the original Undertaker had returned.

The match itself did live up to its billing as the return of the dead man - but for dubious reasons. WWE ventured too far back in time, harking back to the days in which he wrestled slow, lumbering matches short on length and quality. He defeated Kane in less than eight minutes in a match so dull it felt far longer than it actually was.

If nothing else, it highlighted the incredible marketing ploy WWE orchestrated with the Streak in later years. The achievement, on this and other evidence, was all smoke and mirrors.
