Such was his popularity, Jim Duggan even had British fans chanting for America when he stepped into the squared circle during the UK Rampage and other GB tours in the early 1990s. The man with the 2x4 was defined by the stars and stripes. He made it a big part of his matches, always involving the crowd, using them to get him going and topple his opponents by chanting for his beloved United States.
One of the more genuine and heartfelt patriots, and reliable for dropping a fun promo - Hacksaw's pride and passion for his nation always felt in-offensive and fun. He was a blue collar everyman who everyone could relate to. Duggan wrestled as a fan favourite for pretty much all of his runs, whether it be for WWF or WCW, where his unapologetic faith to the USA was always charming and likeable.
