All aboard the Lex Express.

'The Total Package', 'The Narcissist', call him what you want, but there's no doubt that one of his most memorable runs was in the WWF, peaking in 1994 when he ditched his self obsessed heel attitude, embraced Old Glory, and went on a mission for the World Championship.

The WWF at the time had lost their 'Real American' Hulk Hogan to World Championship Wrestling, and Lex was seen as the new generation replacement. Super muscular, clean cut, and ready to take the mantle of the main event star, the WWF now dubbed him as 'The All American'.

Such was his character intertwined with his homeland, in a patriotic stunt for the ages, on Independence Day 1993, Luger arrived by helicopter on the USS Interpid and body-slammed the current World Champ man-mountain Yokozuna, announcing his bid the for the title. He then got himself a coach, painted in in red white and blue, and traveled round the country, and the rest is...well...history.
