3. The nWo And DX Square Off At WrestleMania

D-Generation X were viewed as somewhat of a rebuttal to the wildly successful New World Order over in WCW. The first incarnation of the group, featuring Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chyna (as well as - occasionally - Rick Rude) was a departure for Vince McMahon's promotion. Using much more of an adult slant to their act than the federation fans had seen before, DX became timeless quickly. Later, the likes of X-Pac, Billy Gunn and Road Dogg became members of the group, and they were brought back into play at WrestleMania 31. Triple H was facing Sting on the big event, and both men required some distractions which would eat up time during the bout. That's where both DX and the nWo - on this occasion Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall - came in. When the match had ended in a Triple H victory, both combatants were helped to their feet by old friends (and sometimes enemies, in the case of Sting). The moment felt huge, because this was the first time the biggest groups from their respective promotions squared off. At 'Mania, fans in attendance couldn't stop taking pictures. At home, others paused to soak in such a massive stand off.
