10 Most Phenomenal WWE Title Reigns Of The PG Era
8. The Miz (2010-2011)
Years earlier, Randy Orton elevated someone fresh to the upper card, and it was "aaaaaaaaawesome".
Batista's glimmer of hope aside, 2010 was a bit of a duff year for the WWE Title. John Cena, Sheamus and Orton did exactly nothing with their respective reigns, and it wasn't until The Miz came along that things suddenly seemed interesting. The much-maligned ex-reality star was finally invited to the top table.
After cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase to win the title on the 22 November episode of Raw, Miz would hold onto it until succumbing to Cena at the following year's Extreme Rules in May 2011. That's 160 days of heel cowardice that'd bring a tear to The Honky Tonk Man's eye.
No, Miz's WrestleMania XXVII main event with Cena wasn't the best, and sure, he was portrayed as a fluke champ in storyline, but this was the beginning of the man's road to acceptance after years of toil in WWE. That has to count for something, and it fostered newfound confidence in a guy who had once been told he didn't belong in the same dressing room as everyone else.
