10 Most Pointless WWE Returns

6. The Headbangers

Despite being on the books of the WWE for much of the 1990s, Headbangers Thrasher and Mosh weren't exactly missed when they headed off to the independent ranks in 2001.

Nobody was really clamouring to see them back in the mainstream, basically, but the company last year needed bodies to fill out its roster after the resumption of the brand split, and they were available. So, why not?

They returned in August, suddenly contenders for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles which were ultimately won by the thrown together team of Heath Slater and Rhyno. To say this was a low point for the Tuesday night tag division would be an understatement.

They stayed for all of about three months, making only a handful of appearances to minimal, if any, fanfare (in terms of how the commentators greeted their return, this was "it's... it's Christian!" territory). Given how many up-and-comers would have killed for this spot, you have to question the point of it all.
