10 Most Polarising Undertaker Moments Ever

5. Hanging The Big Boss Man

Undertaker, Big Boss Man

As an infernal overlord who fronted The Ministry Of Darkness, the seriously gothic Undertaker of 1999 offered up something different to the tried-and-tested undead zombie formula; now more of a demonic figure, Ministry 'Taker was positively Satanic compared to his more supernatural guise of before.

Things went too far by the time WrestleMania XV rolled around in the Spring of '99, and Undertaker would be involved in one of the worst Hell In A Cell matches fans had yet witnessed.

Programmed opposite The Big Boss Man for the Cell encounter, The Undertaker would end up hanging Boss Man with a noose post-match; this again prompted complaints from several fans who couldn't believe that the WWF had taken things to such grisly lengths, but can be defended as symptomatic of the Attitude Era's dedication to pushing the envelope.

Still, the disappointing 10-minute match did nothing for the Cell gimmick or either man involved, because Boss Man recovered nicely from his public hanging, instantly rendering the idea pointless and doing little to make 'Taker look like the super-violent devil he was being presented as.
