Maybe it is because of his it ended, but Goldberg was one of the most protected individuals in World Championship Wrestling history. Regardless of whether the numbers are accurate, the man's entire gimmick was that he was unbeatable, and it took a damn cattle prod to put him down. The streak was never likely to be reprised when he came to WWE, but he was still treated with absolute care.

Bill Goldberg never lost a singles match cleanly in World Wrestling Entertainment. He won and lost the World Heavyweight Championship, but the losses he took in the company came in multi-man matches and via the misery of Triple H's sledgehammer.

Goldberg was protected to the end, winning his final match in the company against Brock Lesnar, a man who lost more matches than many realise.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
