10 Most Random Full-Time WWE Returns

1. Fabulous Moolah

At the 1987 Survivor Series, Fabulous Moolah had her final WWE match. She was 63-years-old. It was probably a good decade (or two) after one can reasonably be expected to compete in a wrestling match and not risk serious injury. Thankfully, the company let her ride off into the sunset to enjoy her well-earned retirement...and then called her back to action almost 12 years later.

In 1999, The Fabulous Moolah, along with her good friend Mae Young, became regular characters on Raw and SmackDown. What appeared to be a one time appearance with Jeff Jarrett soon gained them steady work. Amazingly, both of the legendary grappers stepped in the ring on numerous occassions.

The 70-year-olds were asked to be involved in ridiculous storylines, and compete against women 40 years (or more) younger than them. The even took on Ivory in an Evening Gown match at one point, with Young literally stripped down to her granny panties.

The company was filled with “Attitude” at the time, which meant a lot of sex and violence, so letting two women well into their retirement years appear on a weekly wrestling show is easily the most random returns WWE has ever given us. For comparison's sake, it would be like Trish Stratus and Lita returning to Raw...in 2046.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
