10. Mr. Perfect

Mr. Perfect could have been a terrible gimmick had someone who wasn’t as talented as Curt Hennig been given the role. It is kind of silly after all, but Hennig made it work, and had a lot of success battling major WWF stars like Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart, but he could never get his hands around the Heavyweight Title himself.

A major back injury effectively sent him into an early retirement, and he didn’t step into the ring again for nearly four years, which was for the competition. Hennig was under-utilized in WCW, and left the company about a year before they closed up shop.

He missed out on the entire Invasion angle, and then out of nowhere, it was announced he was coming back for the 2002 Royal Rumble. Even more surprising was that he was going back to his old Mr. Perfect moniker. It was a strange fit, as the gimmick felt dated, but perhaps Hennig could make it work.

He wasn’t given much of a chance, though, as after a successful Rumble appearance, he was largely jobbed out and then fired five months later. But seeing Perfect battle the likes of Steve Austin and other top Attitude Era stars was a bizarre, but still a pretty cool sight.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
