5. Paul Ellering

Paul Ellering will always be best remembered as the manager of the legendary Road Warriors. While he’s had a few other clients along the way, Hawk and Animal were the best thing that ever happened to his professional career. However, when they left the company in 1999, it was the last we saw of Paul on TV.

But just this year, in NXT of all places, Ellering returned out of nowhere to resume his managerial career at the age of 63. He’s taken the Authors of Pain under his wing, hoping to lead them to tag team gold, and then up to the main roster. Interestingly, Razer is over 40 years younger than him!

It’s way too soon to say how long Ellering will last in the role, but it’s been a welcome surprise so far. And lucky for The Authors of Pain, there are very few people alive who have the credibility their manager does when it comes to tag team success.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
