10 Most Random Wrestling Factions Ever

3. New Nexus

Years previously, CM Punk had found success as the founder of the 'Straight Edge Society', a group which allowed the man to greatly embellish his real-life Straight Edge lifestyle. Throwing his clean-cut way of living in the faces of everybody, Punk was excellent in the role, and it's fair to say the faction had a lot more gas in the tank than WWE let them run with. Fast forward to 2011, and Punk was installed as the new leader of the Nexus, and the group were subsequently renamed the 'New Nexus'. More often than not, the rest of the members - including Husky Harris, Michael McGillicutty, David Otunga and Mason Ryan - were really only there to protect Punk from various rivals. A short-lived program opposite some former members of the original Nexus unit, now known as The Corre, followed, but the stable's main beef was with Randy Orton, who feuded with Punk heading into WrestleMania 27. The group would only last for 6/7 months, ending when Punk entered a feud with John Cena, eventually cutting his infamous 'pipebomb promo'.
