Cornette is known these days for being a traditionalist with old-school ideas which are apparently incompatible with today's product. With this incendiary interview, though, he helped revolutionise the shoot interview as we know it today.

He also kickstarted his legendary feud with Vince Russo ("speaking of ball-less, gutless pr*cks...") here, the revelations surrounding whom make it slightly easier to comprehend the sheer pace with which he sunk WCW into the bottom of the sea.

It was evident from the bizarre onscreen action that Russo was unable to translate his success from north to south, but Cornette, in his inimitably articulate and foul-mouthed style, revealed why; Vince McMahon selected one out of about twenty five ideas Russo pitched. The other twenty four were so irredeemably terrible that, without McMahon to veto them, they made it to air in WCW.

The damage was done before he was sent home for proposing that rookie Tank Abbott win the World Heavyweight title. Russo had already devalued every championship and tarnished every name talent at his disposal as a result of his ADHD, nonsensical booking.

Cornette had already articulated perfectly the Russo problem years before TNA even came into existence - and yet, they were still daft enough to hire him.
