Well, Hogan and Undertaker was sure ridiculous at Judgment Day 2002, but WWE really outdid themselves one year later when they booked Mr. America vs. Piper.

Mr. America was, of course, Hulk Hogan in a terrible and silly looking disguise.

It was also one of WWE’s more hypocritical matches, as six years earlier, Piper and Hogan battled (see entry No. 6) and Vince McMahon had that mocked on Raw. Years later when they were far, far less mobile he brought them in. Combined, the two old pros took three bumps in the match.

Piper was nowhere near in-ring shape, and poor Sean O’Haire. Damn. The man should have been a star with his devil’s advocate gimmick, but was stuck playing second fiddle to Roddy, and having to oversell for the cartoonish Hogan. It was a sad affair all-around, and looked like two old pros on the indy scene trying to recapture the old magic from decades ago.

Amazingly, it was not the last time either man wrestled for the company.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
