10 Most Ridiculous Things Wrestling Expected You To Believe
4. Warrior Is In The Mirror
WCW's own grip on the top spot was threatened by guff like this.
In 1998, Warrior (not quite as Ultimate as before) returned to screens for another go-around with old WrestleMania foe Hulk Hogan. During his lay off, Warrior had apparently become wrestling's very own Harry Potter, because he was able to use magic and illusion to his advantage during a feud with the nWo.
Live on Nitro, a mentally shattered Hulk spotted Warrior staring back at him from his dressing room mirror, and he lost it. Eric Bischoff, who was standing right next to Hogan, couldn't see Jim Hellwig though. The insinuation? Hulk was losing his mind. The problem? Fans could see Warrior too.
Did that mean WCW's audience was also losing its mind collectively? No, that'd come later under Vince Russo's watch in 2000, but back to '98; Bischoff looked incredibly silly by being the only one who couldn't see Warrior. Even Nitro's announcers could see him mugging for the cameras.
Ridiculous.
