5. Vince McMahon Would Run WCW Properly

Time for something a little different.

Serious reports surfaced in 2001 that Vince McMahon planned to run WCW as a standalone entity that'd come together with his own WWF for annual supershows. On paper, that probs sounded like a brilliant idea and a license to print money, but... it was just never going to happen.

McMahon detested World Championship Wrestling. It was a group that had risen from mediocrity to temporarily claim his crown as number one in North America during the 1990s, and it had done so by aggressively attacking his 'humble little family-run business'. There was no way Vince was going to let that slide once he held all the cards again.

WCW was treated like a lower-class laughing stock by the WWF before being killed a second time just eight months after McMahon had purchased the remnants. Bold claims he'd go 50/50 with his old competitor and occasionally put it ahead of his own creation were far-fetched fantasy, but company top brass wanted you to believe it.
