10 Most Ridiculous Wrestling Matches Ever

2. Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage Vs. The Alliance - Doomsday Cage (WCW Uncensored 1996)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEWQSh3YAFk When Hulk Hogan entered WCW in the mid 1990s, he instantly changed the promotion overnight. While WCW used to be a serious, wrestling-centered promotion, Hogan's arrival changed it to a cartoon-like, WWF ripoff. Guys like Ric Flair and Steve Austin were pushed to the background in favor of Hogan and all of his buddies like Brutus Beefcake, Randy Savage, Ray Traylor, and John Tenta. There was no greater example of this change than Uncensored 1996 when Hogan and Randy Savage took on 8 other opponents in a Doomsday Cage match. The Doomsday cage was multiple levels and surrounded a bottom level which included a ring. The object of the match was for Savage and Hogan to escape two opponents in each section of the cage and then score a pinfall in the ring on the bottom level. The entire thing sounded stupid right off the bat and it didn't disappoint once the match began. The heel side consisted of Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, The Barbarian, Meng, Lex Luger, Kevin Sullivan, Z-Gangsta (aka Zeus in the WWF) and the Ultimate Solution, who later played Bane in the awful Batman and Robin movie. The cage was so poorly lit that you could barely tell what was going on and WCW decided to use a split-screen feature to make things even more difficult. The guys proceed to have one of the worst brawls imaginable and wrestlers randomly disappear and then reappear in the match. By the end, Kevin Sullivan is poking Hogan and Savage with a broomstick through the cage until Brutus Beefcake arrives and hands the Mega Powers frying pans. Yep, frying pans. Truly this is a hardcore match the likes of which has never been seen before. So, after dispatching eight heels with kitchen equipment, Hogan turns to Savage and motions to leave the ring. One problem: They forgot to win the match. So Hogan has to return to the ring and obviously, he pins Ric Flair. Why not, Flair is only the most popular WCW worker, it's natural that Hogan pins him. The whole thing looked like it cost a fortune and it was one of the worst matches in history.
