10 Most SCATHING Times Wrestlers Buried WWE
3. CM Punk Goes To Town On WWE
Much like Chris Jericho, CM Punk hasn't shied away from many opportunities to bury his old company. This entry doesn't even include the well-covered ground that is the Art of Wrestling.
Given his run there, he can't be blamed.
For a time, he was even paid for the privilege. Mercifully, Punk's recent ***** promo game has banished the memories of his cringe "...I change the culture" opening gambit on Backstage. There, he was somewhat tactful, even going as far as to praise the women's division, though he was fabulously pithy in his dressing down of Seth Rollins. "This isn't the show where you shoot your silly little angles," Punk said in 2019. "Seth needs to stop tweeting," he continued, which was tremendous advice.
Punk was altogether more candid on Twitter earlier this year.
"[WWE is] like a movie with a blockbuster budget and cast, but if it's written by creatively bankrupt nincompoops specifically for an audience of one, in a language nobody understands anymore, it's.....trash."
Not sure what Punk is getting at there, frankly. It's easy to understand that the Survivor Series is the only night per year that RAW and SmackDown compete head-to-head. You just have to understand also that the quarterly brand-to-brand invitational exists, even if it isn't every quarter. The stars of RAW and SmackDown do fight one another during the Royal Rumble match, too, so that's six nights, but remember: the quarterly brand-to-brand invitational doesn't happen every quarter, so it might be even by five.
Or four.
