10 Most Shocking Wrestling Squash Matches

9. The Undertaker Vs The Great Khali - WWE Judgement Day 2006

Considering the stature of The Great Khali, it is unsurprising that in the late-2000s Vince McMahon was eager to push the monster straight to the top of the card. Khali won a series of quick matches against the likes of Funaki, Matt Hardy, Scotty 2 Hotty, and reigning World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio, who he squashed in a non-title match in Rey's hometown of San Diego.

The 'Punjabi Nightmare' was being primed for a feud against the biggest star in the company at that time - The Undertaker - despite his clear in-ring limitations. Given how protected 'The Deadman' was at the time, it was shocking that Khali defeated him in a very convincing way at Judgement Day 2006. The decision to have the giant effectively squash 'Taker clearly wasn't one that was well thought out, as injuries and poor booking proceeded to cool Khali's momentum substantially.

The giant would become World Heavyweight Champion a year later, but even then it was clear that he wasn't effective in that position. The early commitment to his character was not capitalized on and Khali became yet another failed superstar during the Ruthless Aggression Era.
