10 Most Shocking WWE Betrayals
8. Brock Buddies Up With Satan
Almost all of Brock Lesnar's time in WWE has been spent as a blood-thirsty, bordering on psychopathic heel - but those of us who watched his original run between 2002 and 2004 will know that he spent at least nine or 10 months in the role of a good guy.
This began at Survivor Series 2002 - when he was ditched by a double-crossing Paul Heyman, who decided (inexplicably) that his business interests were best served representing Big Show - and ended on the eve of SummerSlam the following year.
That was when his relationship of friendly competition with Kurt Angle turned into something more sinister, a change precipitated by Vince McMahon, who succeeded in teasing out of the Next Big Thing the ruthless streak that helped him become the company's youngest-ever world champion.
Kurt got stabbed in the back during a steel cage match he was appointed to referee between his SummerSlam opponent and the chairman of the board, wherein Lesnar played possum before delivering a frenzied, vicious attack; one he would go on to dish out to Spanky and Zach Gowen in the weeks that followed.
