8. Goldberg Slays The Beast (2016)
Goldberg's WWE return was a monstrous success for the company.
Sure, the former WCW Champion's goodwill had greatly diminished towards the end, and his Universal Title win was needless, but he was a considerable ratings draw throughout, and his program with Brock Lesnar produced many great moments.
It was hard to predict how their initial bout would pan out. Brock was the strongest pushed wrestler in the company, Bill hadn't wrestled in 12 years, and their last match (WrestleMania XX) was a certified stinker. The fans were invested, but the only way WWE could turn the bout into something even remotely watchable was by booking the most unthinkable result imaginable - and that's exactly what they did.
Goldberg demolished WWE's dominant force in just 85 seconds. Two spears and a Jackhammer were all it took to put 'The Beast' away, and the crowd were stunned. Lesnar had just been obliterated by a 50-year-old man in under two minutes. It was inconceivable, but it happened, when while many decried WWE for devaluing Brock, the wrestling world was buzzing, and the feud stayed hot all the way to WrestleMania 33, proving the decision was justified.
