It looked like Sting would forever be known as 'the one that got away' for a long, long time. While most of WCW's biggest stars eventually transitioned to WWE following the Invasion angle, Sting spurned multiple opportunities to join Vince McMahon's promotion, choosing to reinvent himself in TNA instead.

It wasn't until 2014 - 13 years after McMahon's purchase of WCW - that Sting relented, and he made a monster impact at that year's Survivor Series.

The main event saw a Triple H-led Authority side face off against a beleaguered Team Cena, with the stipulation stating that the hated power stable would be forced to disband if they lost. Unfortunately, their victory seemed certain when the babyface side was whittled down to just Dolph Ziggler, with Luke Harper, Kane, and Seth Rollins surviving for the bad guys.

'The Show-Off' fought valiantly, eliminating both Kane and Harper, but textbook Authority shenanigans followed. Triple H imposed himself on the match, but the lights cut as crooked official Scott Armstrong counted a pin on Dolph, and Sting appeared through the shadows, taking 'The Game' out, and handing Ziggler's side their victory.

WWE made a meal of the follow up, but the moment itself was incredible.
