Nowadays, WWE are peddling the idea that they are fully behind women's wrestling. The term 'revolution' has been thrown around willy nilly since the Summer of 2015, even extending a little before that thanks to the hard work of girls like Charlotte, Sasha Banks and others in NXT.

The term 'Diva' still remains, which surely discredits the concept of taking women more seriously in professional wrestling. Going back just a few years, WWE didn't give a !*$% about presenting females as serious wrestling attractions.

Conversely, they were little more than eye candy or whimsical acts to help break up the more meaningful male portions of the show.

At WrestleMania XXV, this became evident once again when Santino Marella - a man - won a women's battle royal on the show. Cast as 'Santina' Marella, the guy hurled Beth Phoenix from the ring and was declared 'Miss. WrestleMania'.

Hopefully, 2016 is the year when WWE's women finally get the treatment they deserve at 'Mania, because this was entirely deflating. After all, if WWE cared so little about the entire female roster to let a male performer win their showcase 'Mania bout, why should fans care about the division at all?
