10 Most Succesful TNA Wrestlers In WWE
6. Austin Aries
Just a few years ago, Austin Aries was in a bad spot. He wasn’t making the money needed to survive in a healthy way on the independent scene, so he tried out for Tough Enough. He was way too good for them. Seriously. They wanted people who were much less qualified to wrestle, so Steve Austin could then yell at them, they would fight back tears, and we would all have a good laugh at their expense.
After then nearly calling it a career, TNA brought Aries in for another run, and he excelled in the role, blowing past any expectations. He became the X-Division Champion, and was a featured performer on Impact. In a true feel-good moment, he even became the World Heavyweight Champion and later main-evented Bound For Glory.
When TNA had big money problems, Aries was one of the first casualties. But in early 2016, he finally got his chance in WWE as he was signed to a deal and sent to NXT. At the age of 37, he finally got his shot in the major leagues of wrestling and is currently one of the top performers on the show.
While it’s great to see Aries in WWE in any form, he would be an absolute standout in the new Cruiserweight Division, or really, he could easily belong almost anywhere on Raw or SmackDown.
