Tough Enough History: Season Four The story of The Boogeyman's start in WWE is a funny one. He was one of the eight finalists chosen for the fourth season of Tough Enough (the one held mostly on the Smackdown brand in 2004) and after he survived an elimination he admitted he was really 40 years old. The cut-off age for the competition was 35 years old, so he was eliminated after that. Even though he lied to WWE about his age, they still liked him enough to sign him to a developmental deal at the age of 40 and he debuted on Smackdown in 2005. It's one of those things where WWE wanted to debut this Boogeyman character for whatever reason and he's the guy they picked for the role. If you watch him wrestle you can see that he was always pretty mediocre in the ring and almost never had a good match, but the gimmick worked. He was a babyface that was able to make the crowd cheer because they loved watching him spit worms in the faces of his rivals. It was gross, yet entertaining at the same time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2vJN3st5T4 He had some memorable moments in his WWE career like when he bit the "mole" off Jillian Hall's face or beat Booker T at WrestleMania 22. Not that many Tough Enough contestants can say they beat a WWE Hall of Famer at a WrestleMania, but the Boogeyman can. The Boogeyman is still used by WWE at times since he was a part of WWE Axxess at WrestleMania this year and also attended the Hall of Fame while wearing black headgear to cover his face because he's a guy that really lives the gimmick.
