Here's a claim that's likely to rustle your jimmies: Kevin Nash would be little more than a footnote in the professional wrestling history books had he not been lucky enough to sign with WCW along with Scott Hall.

In fact, his contribution is significantly overrated due to him being one of the first to portray a real-to-life character. Truth be told, any established WWE star could have jumped ship with Hall and succeeded given how cool the Outsiders angle was.

On his own, Nash was mediocre at best. Although he was handed more than his fair share of horrible gimmicks, his breakout role as Diesel was nothing to write about, with Nash additionally benefiting from being in the right place at the right time as Shawn Michaels' bodyguard.

Diesel's run at the top of WWE was mostly fuelled by his love-hate relationship with Michaels, a menacing grin and a funky harmonica theme song rolled up into a ball that created the illusion of charisma.

In Nash's defence, it worked.
