10 Most Underrated ECW Revival Championship Matches

8. Matt Hardy vs. Evan Bourne (Cyber Sunday 2008)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X36uERjpbQg There was arguably no one hotter on the ECW roster in 2008 than Evan Bourne. After making his debut on the brand that June, he went on to win over the audience with his breathtaking finishing maneuver, the Shooting Star Press. In the months that followed, he gradually built a fan following, culminating in him being chosen as one of three potential opponents for then-ECW champion Matt Hardy at Cyber Sunday. Unsurprisingly, Bourne won the poll, beating out Finlay and Mark Henry by 69 percent of the fan vote. The most interesting aspect of Hardy vs. Bourne was that although it pitted two fan favorites against each other, the live crowd sided with Bourne for most of the matchup; of course, part of that was due to Hardy played the heel in the match by constantly rolling out to ringside and shutting down Bourne's offense at every turn. Nevertheless, it was the young gun's first true test as to whether he could hang with the very best, and he passed with flying colors. Bourne came close on several occasions to winning the title, but Hardy's experience earned him the advantage and ultimately the victory. It was on this night that the master of the Shooting Star Press proved to the masses that he was more than just an adrenaline junkie; he was an amazing athlete ready to make an impact.
