10 Most Underrated ECW Revival Championship Matches

9. Matt Hardy vs. Jack Swagger (Royal Rumble 2009)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ia2mmeDRoKE Upon his arrival in ECW in September 2008, Jack Swagger was touted as a "wrestling prodigy," quickly living up to the hype by racking up wins against Tommy Dreamer, Ricky Ortiz and Finlay. Then, undefeated in singles competition, he convinced ECW general manager Teddy Long to grant him an ECW Championship match, and he and Hardy did battle on the Jan. 12 episode. Following an impressive showing from Swagger, he pinned the seasoned veteran to capture the gold. Hardy's championship pursuits were not yet over, however; he insisted on invoking his rematch clause at the 2009 Royal Rumble pay-per-view only two weeks later. At the event, Hardy and Swagger contested an even better bout than they had previously, filled with close counters and suspenseful nearfalls. Despite his best attempt to win back the belt, The Man Who Will Not Die fell short of victory, keeping Swagger's undefeated streak intact. And with their feud officially finished, Hardy went on to turn on his brother Jeff later that same night.
