10 Most Underrated ECW Revival Championship Matches

4. ECW Championship Scramble Match (Unforgiven 2008)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nziYB4RvGtE At the time of its inception, no one knew what to expect from the Scramble match, and in retrospect, it was a total flop because it was never used again (with the exception of one instance in 2009) after 2008's Unforgiven event. What fans tend to forget, however, is that the Scramble match contested for the ECW Championship was actually quite good and the best of the three that night. For those unfamiliar with the concept, the Scramble match consisted of five Superstars entering the ring at a set time interval. Whoever scored a pinfall or submission victory would be named the "interim" champion, and whoever the interim champ was by the end of the match was recognized as the official title holder. As convoluted of a concept as it was, the Superstars of ECW managed to make it work to the best of their ability. Among the combatants in the ECW Championship Scramble match were The Miz, Finlay, Matt Hardy, Chavo Guerrero and defending champion Mark Henry. While it may look like a random cast of characters on paper, they all actually had great in-ring chemistry with one another. Miz had an impressing outing, Henry played the role of the dominant powerhouse well, Guerrero was able to show off his skills, Finlay was his usual great self and Hardy was the underdog babyface everyone wanted to win. In the final few minutes of the bout, Hardy covered Miz for the three count, and in breaking up several pinfall attempts by the other participants, he ended the matchup was the official, and new, ECW champion.
