10 Most Underrated Matches From WWE Survivor Series

7. Bret "Hitman" Hart Vs. Mr. Bob Backlund (1994)

Ask any top star of WWE's New Generation and they'll likely tell you how difficult it was to work with Bob Backlund. Not because of a poor attitude or a lack of ability, quite the contrary, as Bob was a former WWF Champion and well respected within the locker room. The problem was that Bob was still wrestling the style of a bygone era and mixing it up with Razor Ramon, Diesel, Shawn Michaels, and other stars of the day proved to be a daunting task.

One man that was able to pull out an underrated gem from the Princeton, Minnesota native was the Excellence of Execution, Bret 'Hitman' Hart.

Bret tussled with Bob in the summer of '94 and again at WrestleMania XI, but their best match came at Survivor Series '94 in a Submission Match for the WWF title. Bret was able to match Bob's wrestling abilities and told a story of the old generation vs. the New Generation, but lost the title when Helen Hart, who had been sitting ringside, threw in the towel.

Bob would only be used as a transitional champion to get the title over to Diesel a few days later, but his match against Bret was a nice surprise in the middle of Survivor Series '94.
