10 Most Underrated WWE Matches Of 2014

7. Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt - Steel Cage Match (Raw; September 9, 2014)

Chris Jericho made his grandiose return to Raw on the June 30 episode, but wasn't able to celebrate for long before being ambushed by The Wyatt Family. This kicked off a feud fans were excited to see come to fruition and it had a lot of potential to be something special. For one reason or another, however, the program didn't quite live up to the lofty expectations. The promos were above average, but their first encounter at the Battleground pay-per-view wasn't anything to rave about. The feud lost its way going into SummerSlam, but they recovered with a pretty good match that saw Wyatt win cleanly. As with any rivalry, a rubber match between the two was in order. Instead of holding off until Night of Champions, WWE opted to hold it on the "season premiere" of Raw on September 9 inside a Steel Cage. In what was easily the best of the series, Jericho and Wyatt put out all the stops. Interference from Wyatt Family members Luke Harper and Erick Rowan was kept to a minimum, allowing Jericho and Wyatt to have the kind of match they should have had at Battleground. Jericho even ascended to the top of the cage and jumped off onto Wyatt down below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXKqMgVWXkk That sensational spot earned him the Slammy Award for the Extreme Moment of the Year. However, Wyatt still managed to pull out the victory when he climbed out of the cage mere seconds before Jericho.
