10 Most Underrated WWE Royal Rumble Performers

7. Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler’s Royal Rumble career has been similar to the Miz’s in many ways.

Both of them came from humble beginnings—Ziggler lasting just 21 seconds in his debut showing before being launched to the outside by Kane—and both of them have since shown themselves capable of holding down the fort when need; Ziggler outlasted the entire field in 2013, entering at number one and making it to the final four before being eliminated after almost 50 minutes. It’s also worth mentioning his admirable fulfilment of double-duty in 2012, lasting nearly 20 minutes in the Rumble fresh off the back of a WWE Championship bout with CM Punk.

Other highlights include his “I don’t even care who number two is” promo from that same year, which perfectly set the stage for Chris Jericho’s unexpected return in that very spot.

All of that makes for a solid body of Royal Rumble work that is often under-appreciated due to the lack of any real output. Which, in some ways, could be seen as a fairly close reflection of his career as a whole.
