10 Most Unexpected WWE Burials Ever
1. Brock Lesnar
Goldberg had many holes in his game, but there were elements of his character that made him one of the most imposing and dominant wrestlers of the 1990s. His entrance was legendary, you could hum his Terminator-style entrance music from memory, and he perfected the art of the squash match as he ran through WCW superstars during his period of dominance.
Top of what made him special was his intensity. The explosive way he hit the Spear popularized the move in mainstream wrestling forever. After 12 years away, Goldberg was booked in his first match since leaving the industry in controversial fashion in 2004. There were so many questions going into Survivor Series 2016, especially considering his opponent would be Brock Lesnar.
In Goldberg's first match since he and Brock were booed out of Madison Square Garden together at WrestleMania 20, he beat Lesnar in less than 90 seconds. Only this time, the explosive nature of Goldberg's attacks felt a lot less nitro-fueled. He somehow managed to look cumbersome, even in this short period of time. He didn't look any sharper when taking Kevin Owens's Universal Title a few months later at Fastlane.
Thankfully, Da Man fared much better in the inevitable rematch with Lesnar at WrestleMania 33, but Goldberg's burials were a lot less convincing now that he was in his 50s.
